Welcome RACERS to VRODRacing.com!

Harley-Davidson V-Rod racing. It's been a long time since Harley has made a box stock bike that could be taken off the show room floor to the race track. But in 2002 they made history with the production of the V-Rod. Since its introduction the V-Rod has proven its capabilities at the drag strip as a stock ET bike, or as a modified heads-up dragbike. In competition, fully setup bigbore-strokers have seen 9.2 and over 140MPH without bars or slicks. Eagle HD has broken into the eights on a naturally aspirated setup at a local track. KAz is chasing some aggressive goals in 2005 on a turbo charged VROD in Land Speed Racing events. He is even hoping to put a drag strip edition into the eights. Rick Neilson and the Cycle Nuts and Bolts team also have their eyes on the eights - big-bore strokers on the bottle is their approach. VRODRacing.com will feature bikes from across the country as well as the globe. Active in the various sanctioning bodies such as AHDRA, AMAProStar, IHRA  and NHRA. And who can forget the factory Pro-Stock effort - winning for the 2004 championship. If you are new to racing or an old hand, join us on VRODRacing.com as a featured rider - we are looking for racers that want to participate!

We will classify race programs in the following categories:

Welcome Racers!

Welcome VROD racers to VRODRacing.com. This site is dedicated to promoting Harley-Davidson V-Rod racing in any form.  We want to share information about racers from around the world. In general the featured teams are members of VRODForum.com which provides us with an opportunity to share our experience with the wider VROD community. If you are not yet a member there let us encourage you to join. EMail KSPZ3@VRODRacing.com if you would like to have your program featured on this site.  There is no cost to participate - this is a casual website by a racer for racers.

If you want to participate in VRODRacing.com, send us an email with pictures of your bike at the track and some background information about you, your setup, your accomplishments and your goals. Also, it would be helpful if you join VRODForum.com and participate in the forum as this is where I gather allot of information that will be published on the site - it is an easy way for me to stay abreast of things and for the VRod community to keep informed. Note: We are just building this web site and doing the best we can as we go along. Hopefully the end result will be valuable to the racing community as well as those who like to follow racing. Please be patient, and hopefully we will

VROD Racing Success Tip: Shift Light is an absolute necessity - the miniature VROD tachometer is nearly impossible to see under hard acceleration - www.pingelonline.com has a number of shift light set ups. Dyna Shift Minder and Shift Light is one alternative - Pingel also has handlebar brackets with an integrated tether kill switch - required at some tracks . Pin 3 in the ECM marked unused in the manual - is actually a tachometer feed required for the shiftminder! Initially set the Shift Minder to 8250 RPM assuming standard rev limiter setup. This will provide plenty of headroom for the occasional slow shift and avoid a race ending encounter with the rev limiter!
